Mona Doerksen was born and raised in Kansas. She holds two degrees in music education from Wichita State University and has enjoyed a successful career as a teacher in USD 259, Wichita Public Schools. Mona and her husband, Kevin, live in Derby, where they are avid Chiefs and Royals fans. They have two grown children.
